Our association was founded to help young people develop into better adults through participation in organized activities. Sportsmanship, teamwork, sacrifice, self-reliance and self-discipline are among the attributes needed by citizens of the future that can be learned through participation in organized baseball and softball. In essence, we believe that if you teach youngsters to play by the rules, they'll learn to live by the rules and develop a desire for improvement in personal achievement. It is not designed for a few highly skilled athletes, but for as many players in our community as well as surrounding communities as possible, who are sincerely interested in the game. In the leagues for younger players, it is generally desirable to make every attempt to include every player who registers, in order to provide them with every opportunity to learn the basic skills the game requires. However, as players advance in age, the privilege of participation is earned through attainment of performance levels, by conscientious attendance at games and practices, and by general conduct and development on the field. The McBain Youth Sports Association Board of Directors is comprised entirely of volunteers who give freely of their time and energy to organize and administer the league throughout the year. The Board of Directors annually selects and evaluates coaches and umpires, establishes playing rules, coordinates field use, monitors league and tournament team play, purchases equipment and uniforms, etc. However, the Board cannot do it alone - please consider volunteering some of your time, in whatever capacity you are available, to benefit our community.Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
